Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using the ShotShield iOS mobile application (Bundle ID: com.viralstudio.shotshield) and website (https://shotshield.app) operated by Viral Studio LLC ("ShotShield", "we", "us", or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using ShotShield, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).
1. Medical Disclaimer — Not a Medical Device or Drug Dosage Calculator (Apple Guideline 1.4.1)
ShotShield is an educational nutrition and personal logging companion. It is NOT a medical device, clinical diagnostic tool, or drug dosage calculator.
- No Dosing or Titration Advice: ShotShield never calculates, recommends, prescribes, or suggests a medication dose, titration increase/decrease, or timing-of-injection modification. You log the doses prescribed by your licensed healthcare provider solely for personal record-keeping.
- Educational Pharmacokinetic Estimates: The "Estimated medication level" curve displayed in the app and on the Lock Screen widget is a population-level educational illustration derived from published FDA prescribing information half-life parameters (e.g., ~168 hours for semaglutide and ~120 hours for tirzepatide). Individual blood concentrations vary significantly; do not rely on the curve for clinical decisions.
- Nutritional & Side-Effect Estimates: AI meal scans and the 6-Metric Score Card (
PROTEIN,NAUSEA SAFETY,SULFUR SAFETY,FIBER,CARB BALANCE,HYDRATION) provide general nutritional estimates. Always consult your prescribing physician or registered dietitian before making changes to your medication protocol or diet. In the event of a medical emergency or severe gastrointestinal symptoms, contact your doctor or emergency services immediately.
2. Auto-Renewing Subscriptions, Free Trials & Billing (Apple Guideline 3.1.2)
ShotShield offers auto-renewing subscriptions in the ShotShield Pro subscription group, billed through your Apple ID account via StoreKit 2:
- Annual Pro (
com.viralstudio.shotshield.pro.annual): $39.99 / year ($0.77/week equivalent). Includes a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the 7-day trial expires, your Apple ID account is charged $39.99/year and renews automatically each year. - Monthly Flex (
com.viralstudio.shotshield.pro.monthly): $9.99 / month ($2.30/week equivalent). No free trial; billed immediately and renews monthly until cancelled. - Annual Pro Scholarship / Abandon Save Offer (
com.viralstudio.shotshield.pro.annual.save): $19.99 / year ($0.38/week equivalent, 50% off annual). Presented once upon initial paywall dismissal. No free trial; billed immediately at $19.99/year and renews annually at $19.99/year until cancelled.
Cancellation & Management: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the 7-day free trial). Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, or directly inside ShotShield → Settings → Manage Subscription. Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited if you purchase a non-trial subscription where applicable.
3. Fair-Use Scan Quota & Offline Queue
To prevent automated abuse of our multimodal AI infrastructure, active ShotShield Pro subscriptions include up to 40 AI meal camera scans per user per UTC day, plus unlimited manual meal logging, dose logging, water tracking, and widget updates. If a scan is captured offline or times out after 12 seconds, ShotShield saves the meal locally as pending and automatically retries when connectivity returns.
4. Intellectual Property & Third-Party Trademarks
Ozempic® and Wegovy® are registered trademarks of Novo Nordisk A/S. Zepbound® and Mounjaro® are registered trademarks of Eli Lilly and Company. ShotShield and Viral Studio LLC are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, or any pharmaceutical manufacturer. All medication names inside the app are used strictly for nominative informational identification by patients logging their prescribed therapy.
5. Limitation of Liability & Warranty Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ShotShield is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind. Viral Studio LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or health-related damages arising from your reliance on nutritional estimates, AI macro recognition, or educational pharmacokinetic visualizations.
